Welcome

Welcome to our wedding blog. We are going to put all the information on here you will need to know for our wedding instead of sending you all four page essays through the post. You can also make your own comments, ask any questions or generally say how excited you are about coming to our big day.

Gift List

Hi everybody,

After overwhelming pressure from some of you to produce a gift list (so that you know what to get us) we have visited John Lewis and listed a number of items. As of the 20th June i believe you can go to any John Lewis in the country or visit the John Lewis website and see the list.

Please don't feel like you have to stick to the list, and if you are unsure on what to get us we are more than happy with vouchers.

Here is a link to the John Lewis Online Store. Our Gift List Number is 373098

Hotels

Below you will find a list of some of the hotels in the area. Click on their name for a link to their webpage:

The Angel & Royal : Widely regarded and fondly known as the oldest surviving English Inn, the main façade of the building that stands today was built approximately 600 years ago. Located in the town centre of Grantham.

The Ramada : Relatively close to Harlaxton Manor, no more than a couple of miles.

The Premier Inn : Only a couple of years old and right on the doorstep of Harlaxton Manor, only a mile away.

The Manner's Arms : A bit further out, but a nice place to stay.

I'm sure there are more and i'll add them soon, but here are some to get you going.

If you have any problems feel free to ring Charlotte or Johnny on 0116 270 8954.

Directions for St Wulframs

Grantham can be found on the A1 or on one of the main train lines so it is easy to find us. St. Wulfram's Church is situated in the centre of Grantham and can be spotted from miles around. Parking for the church will be made available in the King's School car park on Brook Street which is adjacent to St Wulframs and you can access the church via Swine Gate.

From the A1 take the next turnoff, the A607 towards Melton Mowbray, and proceed for 1 mile, Harlaxton College can be seen off the road on your left just before the village of Harlaxton. Turn left into Harlaxton Village and approach the College via Manor Drive.

By Train

Harlaxton's nearest rail station, Grantham, is connected to the main East Coast line which terminates at London's King's Cross Station. See National Rail Enquiries for the latest train schedules.

Music

To make sure that everyone has a good time at the wedding, we are asking ALL guests to choose two of their favourite songs to be played at Harlaxton Manor in the evening. You need to think hard because they need to be good party songs that at least some of the guests will know! You can post your songs here on the comments section or just give us a call. We are going to vet the song list so if anyone tries to get any Abba played, there is a chance they will no longer be invited to the wedding....choose wisely!
